Ultimately, the use of cell phones on the road must be regulated and taken into consideration by state legislators. Particularly, because imprudent and unconscious drivers can put their own life at risk as well as other´s by simply using phones. Researchers, expert testimony, public opinion and even cartoons make reference to what it has been mentioned before. Among others, in Japan, for instance, by prohibitting the use of handheld phones, the percentage of accidents linked to it fell in the country. To sum up, it is time to pass laws that regulate the use of cell phones on the road in order to decrease the amount of accidents while driving.
